John's career began with Owens Corning where he served in many roles spanning business as well as Information Technology. During his 32 years his roles were: Leader of Administration for Insulation Materials (included Credit, Customer Service, Production Planning, Pricing and Sales Administration), Leader of Systems Development, Director of Telecommunications and Data Center Operations, Director of Litigation Support, Leader of Corp. Re-engineering, Leader of SAP Implementation for Bill to Collect Team, and Leader of E-Commerce.  
Some of John's accomplishments at Owens included:  
  • Introduction of the first Microfilming application
  • Creation of the first End User Computing Data Base
  • Creation of the first product allocation system
  • Creation of the first mechanical pricing system
  • Responsible the team that selected the company SAP solution
  • Implemented the first EDI application
  • Re-engineered several processes which resulted in significant savings to the bottom line
  • Responsible for assisting in defense of a Federal anti trust Lawsuit related to pricing
  • Creation of the first process based organization
 

Post Owens Corning, John Seitz successfully managed his own company Enterprise Software Resources where he succeeded in growing the business each year. Enterprise Software was focused on SAP, and other ERP technologies. The company successfully implemented ERP solutions and IT strategy for mid-cap, and fortune 500 companies.

 
During his career at Enterprise Software John received many awards, and was instrumental in having the company recognized as a leading provider of ERP Consulting.  
Some of his rewards:  
  • University of Toledo SAP Studies program was awarded a Best Designed Curriculum by SAP and HP. John and members of the University staff were flown to Philadelphia to receive the award and computer hardware for the University donated by SAP and HP

Ed has over 40 years experience in business and information technology management from small manufacturing companies to large tier one manufacturing suppliers. Ed has a BS degree in Finance, from East Tennessee State University. He is a retired military officer, COL (R), with 33 years as a member of the Armed Forces. Throughout his career, he has been affiliated with numerous professional organizations, namely Society for Information Management, Center for Creative Leadership, Americas SAP User Group, and National Guard Association of the US.

Career Synopsis

 
   
During his career he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Femco Machine, and several operations and corporate roles at Owens Illinois: Global Development Champion: Lean Six Sigma; Vice President: R&D; European Integration Team Member: Plant Manager, and Plant Superintendent. He was MIS Manager for Consol Glass and Consol Plastics, heading up several major IT investments including an SAP deployment across all four Consol operations. He also ran his own software consulting firm. This has been in Africa, the United States , and Europe , which gives him a broad exposure to international business in several capacities. He has also worked in China , Chile , Canada , and elsewhere.  
   
He holds a PhD with the thesis in Organizational Preconditions to Successful Capital Investment, and an MBA with the thesis in Segmentation and Purchasing Criteria in the Computer Industry. He also has a Higher Diploma in Personnel Management and a Bachelor of Arts He holds dual USA and South African citizenship.  
   
Amongst some of his honors are being commissioned as an Air Force Captain, Chairman of South African SAP User Group, and a Board Member Pennsylvania NCWIB.

Tom Alfieri has over 35 years experience in all aspects of information technology executive leadership. He is recognized for his innovative application of process and technology in delivering solid and measureable business results. His significant people, process and technology expertise includes global people leadership and development, long-range planning, $50 million annual budgets, international merger and acquisition leadership, global SAP project management, business controls assessment and remediation, and large-scale technical infrastructure design, deployment and operation.

 


Tom's career highlights during his extensive career with the highly rated Information Technology department of Owens Corning include leadership accountability for:

 

  • The IT due-diligence, transition service agreement and day-1 infrastructure and application integration for the $2 billion JV of the composite reinforcement businesses of OC and the French company, Saint-Gobain.
  • The formation and implementation of a global support strategy and team for the entire OC application portfolio which included SAP, PeopleSoft and plant-based finance, HR, supply-chain and manufacturing applications. The OC team consisted of people located in the US, UK, Brazil, Belgium, India, Korea, China and Japan and an outsourced partner team located in Mexico, Brazil and India.
  • The implementation and oversight of the global application portfolio which largely consisted of SAP, PeopleSoft and Aspentech applications.
  • The planning, acquiring, implementing, securing, operating and supporting of an advanced global infrastructure of enterprise servers, data networks, voice networks, work group servers, desktop equipment and mobile personal devices.
 

Tom is a leader in IT organizational assessment and transformation. He has a track record of creating team engagement and implementing process, project and technology disciplines and best practices.

 


Tom has a BS in Information Technology from the University of Toledo. He has extensive leadership and engagement training from Gap International, Gallup and The Dooley Group.
